I believe Texas lost to Oklahoma 65-13 that year?
Anyway, I always wondered what happened at the end of that year. If Stoops should have had another natty, it is with this squad.
The Sooners roll into the Big 12 title game undefeated and winning by an average of 40 points. Some commentators are calling it the best team of all time.
They then get completely blasted 35-7 by a decent but not great K-State squad and then don't do much against LSU in the Title game.
Did the whole squad start doing blow the last few weeks?

Lots of costly injuries and Jason white who had just won the heisman had a broken hand. OU only put up 14 pts. It was a sad thing to watch.

I would say the consensus of the media was calling them an all-time great team at the very least. USC winning the AP poll was in part OU backlash for them failing so spectacularly to meet the overblown expectations. Well that and controversy sells newspapers which were still being read in 2003.
