The man is still doing work for another country. He is a wizard.

He is my favorite QB we have had. He may not be as talented as Newton but I like him better. I will take that 2013 offense over any other. And a huge reason it worked is because of him

Who downvoted this? It’s very true, as everyone was BEGGING Gus to play JJ. He was very limited in passing, but that guy could see the field and run that offense to perfection.

Been somewhat keeping up with his career. He makes like 600k a year playing for SAS. He's done really well. What I have respected the most was he stated early he wanted to play football for a living and found a way. Didn't die on the QB hill like a lot of guys would have.

2013 had so many memorable games because of Nick. He was amazing and will always be one of my favorites.

Completely agree he is underrated. People came around on how good he was in like 2015-16 after the fact but the fact is in 2014 90% of the fanbase was wishing him away.

I don’t believe that’s accurate at all

Nick was a wizard. Some may have underrated him, but not all. He made a lot of D-1 athletes look stupid.

Same. People confuse this online world to actual public perception. 2014 was on Ellis.

Not wishing him away in the sense that people thought he sucked, but people thought JJ was better and was gonna make us unbeatable. As someone who was at AU at the time, and very online, it’s not just perception. But yes, 2014 was very much on Ellis. Nick only laid one major egg(@UGA) in his two years that I can remember. Still don’t know what happened on the 2 TAMU fumbles but too much PTSD to go back and watch

It's easy to look back and laugh, but when NM was suspended and JJ came in for the Arkansas game, we thought the QB spot was good to go for years. There was no reason not to think JJ was going to be elite going into 15

Agree with that too, it’s natural that we were so excited. But perhaps a good lesson to enjoy damn good players when we already have them in the future

My dawgie buddy likes to remind me of how excited I was after JJ's fine first half against Arkansas.
