Jermaine Burton being on these lists, especially 1st team, will never not be funny. On a team with #1 overall draft pick playing QB and no dominant WR, Burton puts up a 27/498/4 line in 9 power five games. Against Texas, Tennessee and LSU, he posts a combined line of 6/78/0.
But suddenly in his 4th season, with Tommy Rees at OC and Jalen Milroe at QB, he’ll put 1st team All SEC numbers. Lmao
I don't think anyone at Alabama thinks he should be on any 1st team All SEC lists.

At UGA, he was plus in getting off the line of scrimmage. Better than average initial separation.
He was also plus getting separation at getting late separation attacking the ball.
But he wasn't elite speed (not the speed that Bama has witnessed the past 5 seasons). Initial separation didn't stand a DB with good recovery.
And we used him in ways that he just wasn't good at (screens. He's not quick enough or strong enough).
And he wasn't plus hands at UGA (2018 INT against Bama was a tip drill crossing the middle).
He is in the Hall of Good.
He left for a better scheme.
But he did get passed up by other receivers at UGA (Dom Blaylock on the screens. Ladd mcconkey on the deeper routes).
