UGA offers NIL to high school kids and more to the top guys but they won’t pay the extra premium that teams trying to establish themselves are paying to turn a program around - it’s fairly logical to understand.
1) more to sell - Nattys/NFL development
2) more talent already in the lockerroom
There is a lockerroom chemistry balance that coaches have to balance out once they have a great 85.
UGA is paying the Freshman but they cannot go overboard and maintain the lockerroom. They cannot go “all in” and maintain their strategy.
Take AU and Hugh Freeze sitch - he has ZERO loyalty to anyone in his current lockerroom - none. He didn’t recruit any of them other than the current Freshmen in a fairly weak class. Pressure to win and surrounded by two powerhouse programs - AU boosters are starving for relevance. Auburn can throw the Yellawood bag at any guys they want right now with no repurcussions.
Each school is different and all are in different stages. FSU has made progress but in a dying conference and still not a team in upper tier. UGA has to balance incoming classes on NIL with the elite talent already on the squad. It’s different and all three have somewhat different strategies in NIL.
If you don’t see the differences then you don’t see the full picture. All these kids have a good idea what each other are making and it can be an issue in the lockerroom- if you don’t think so then you are naive.

Three downvotes but no one refuting the post - because they cannot.

This post right here is why the world loathes UGA fans. Every fricking coach has to balance their locker room whether they’ve won 10 natties or haven’t gone to a bowl in 10 years. In fact, UGAs locker room is easier because you’re winning. People tolerate more when you’re winning - to act like you missed this kid because Kirby is having to be more tactful and walk a tighter line is just straight asinine and arrogant. FSU just might need him more - but when UGA needs a kid, you can bet you guys are throwing the brinks truck at him. Hell , you think it’s a coincidence you got the Texas LB after it was clear Riddick was dropping you? No, it became a needed recruit and you unloaded NIL. Nothing wrong with that either, it’s the game now - and UGA isn’t above playing it either
