With NIL, USC and Texas are very well positioned to be powers in the sport.

OU could be in for an extended drop down, but it won't have any relation to Nebraska issues or because SECSECSEC. In the long term OU will still be OU, but in the short term it could be an unsettling down turn.

You can't buy a winning college football team. Too many moving parts. Too many egos - 85, not counting walk ons.

Granted, you can't play winning football without large sums of money. But as A&M has shown, you can't buy winning football with nothing more than a large block of money either.

I'll buy Oklahoma - because they have the required money, but also a culture in place that will produce the necessary hunger to win in stretches. I'll sell Texas - because they actually have, and spend, too much money.

And that's the irony that's going to run counter to the Austin mentality. The idea that you can get more by spending less. Not going to fly for the Austinites.

And yes, playing eight - soon to be nine games - is a different animal. There's no room to play off emotion with that many games. That is going to bite Texas right in the arse.

These type of fans are results oriented fans they look at last year but are not true fans ….. they don’t follow recruiting or the circumstances of why they even had a bad year …. Seeing this come from a OU fan
Is concerning .
