his in-game interviews are great.

I want him after we shitcan Pierce, whenever that may be.
1. Sully - Long, long shot but make him say no
2. Saarloos - Remind TCU who they are
3. Vitello - Unrefined greaseball but he will eventually find success

I'm far from a Pierce defender, but you can't deny that he undoubtedly over-achieved this season given what was returning on this team.
Won the conference 3 of the past 5 full seasons. He's 7-4 in super regional games (advanced in 3/4) and 14-2 in regional games (advanced in 4/5). We expect better performance in Omaha, sure, but as this year has shown, it's tough for every team there. Two of the five Top 8 seeds that made it to Omaha went a collective 0-4
I'd say let the guy do what he can with next year's returning players before going full pitchfork and torch on him.

That’s a good list. Vitello is a schmuck, but I think I would like him more as my coach. He clearly knows how to recruit.
Summer of 2025, we will be looking

Oh he deserves the job right now, but he will get exposed with an SEC schedule imo, unless his recruiting picks up.

It would make a LSU/Texas rivalry fun when yall are in the SEC

LSU had some great fans visit during the 2019 series despite the fact that it was windy and less than 30 degrees outside. Horrible weather for a weekend baseball series, but your fans still brought it.
Very much looking forward to regular series against Arkansas, LSU and the schools from Mississippi

Me too, but yall are in the SEC now. Its time to lose that field turf

Had my bachelor party there that series, absolutely miserable conditions and an embarrassing sweep to one of your worst teams of this century but we made the best of it

I agree, it's going to take at least 2 years of not making the tourney for us to cut him loose.
He's a great ball coach. I don't think he's a great roster builder.

He seems like a decent enough guy, but he's also way too comfortable talking to the broadcast booth during games. The last thing I'd want is my team up to bat while the head coach is shooting the breeze with Chris Burke and Ben McDonald

Del Conte has said grass at DKR is coming. Hopefully it happens at Disch-Falk soon after.

He would just be standing there observing regardless. And he’s actually getting a more detailed overview of things happening just by talking to the guys calling the game. He went and talked to the umpire mid-interview yesterday

If you think Jay Johnson is "just standing there observing," you should probably pay closer attention to what he does throughout a game. There's a reason coaches that are worth their salt are trying to get that headset off as quickly as possible

Well he coaches putching and is very hands off of the offense, he mentioned it today during his interview.
