LSU baseball… hard to figure

Looked like absolute world beaters to start the year. Totally dominant.
Mid-season struggle that often sets up good teams for a strong run. That struggle has a damn good grip on the team and they can’t seem to shake it off.
No matter, LSU is still one of those teams no one wants to see in their bracket. What a strange season.

Nobody wants to play us in BR with Omaha on the line...nobody. We good.

When we played them early in the season, the second game got away after the 5th, but it was close.
After Skenes, our batters were matching everything their batters did except for one inning in the second game. We took that L in game 2, but took game 3 bc by then LSU had no more pitching. It was obvious they didn’t have depth there like they thought they did. I made a thread pointing it out their pitching sucks after Skenes but got shut down.
Schloss went all left hand pitchers that series bc he saw something, plus playing the shift. I’m not surprised we won bc for some reason they struggle vs lefties and the shift (we barely used today). I wonder why.
But LSU on paper is a better team. Their offense can carry their pitching if they stop trying to HR derby games. I can’t recall how many runners they left stranded. I think the make it to Omaha tho.

Lost two of their better relievers.
Defense has been an issue in spots lately as has been baserunning.
Situational hitting has been rough too as JJ has tinkered with different lineups.
The bullpen looked better overall this week so that was positive.

Not really. They always looked poorly coached (and just ragged looking with long nasty hair and tattoos) and folded easily. Only lsu hopefuls thought they were that good.
