imo its a mistake to let a guy with no head coach exp. take the keys to a major program. I think it would be better to let him take a small job and learn the ropes and then when mac leaves hire him.

He is using Texas as a stepping stone before Auburn gets him. That was the plan.

Must be nice to have program stability. Everyone wants to kill our Assistants.

You were calling for the coordinators that are about to get fired to be fired a few weeks ago. You should be happy

Question for the Auburn faithful - Tubbs has been an AWESOME, and I mean Fantastic, unbelievable, great coach.

What makes you think that he can't restore the program and that he should leave?

I think he can. Only problem is, he probably has to win the SEC West next year to retain his job.

good coaches don't have horrible seasons when they are supposed to be national champiosnhip contenders

Pete Carroll
Bob Stoops
Jim Tressel
etc.

And he only has 1 SEC Championship in 10 years. He has been to the game twice. Arkansas has been more times over that period than Tuberville.

Wow! I have to say I'm a little surprised by this move from Texas. Not that it isn't a good move by both parties, it just seems a little....rushed?

I agree - I also suspect that nothing is stopping Muschamp from bolting before then if someone throws a ton of $$ at him.

This is curious...Mack Brown is only 57. He'll coach there for another 5 to 10 years. This is def. a power move. Maybe he doesn't want the pressure of a TENN or CLEM, and is waiting for something else to come open next year (AUB?)

Most of us think he can restore the program and that is why he will be back next year.

I don't think so, he just has to show that he can be competitive and put the programs intrests above his own and his buddies (ie fire the offensive assistants with the exception of Gran...its beyond time). If he proves he actually cares and still has fire and we win 8 games or so he will be fine. Hiring a top notch OC and some offensive assistants that are actually qualified would be a good place to start.

I don't think he will be a good head coach at all.
