The point I was making was that the difference in perception between the SEC and Big 12 in 2010 was a world away from where it is today. Big 12 was arguably the 2nd best conference at that time, whereas it's considered the minor leagues today.

Thus, OU didn't have as much (any) incentive to jump to the SEC because they weren't actively being hurt by being in the Big 12.
