Wrong. We turned down their "junior membership" offer.

Why would Texas A&M want to go to the B1G when the SEC is the better conference for Texas A&M.

They will say they got offered a junior membership and turned it down. Eta….oh boy. They already went there.

But that’s not really being offered an invite.

It’s like telling everyone you went all the way when they knew you only got a handy.

It's funny how things work out. It's fair to say that the majority of Mizzou fans would have preferred the Big Ten over the SEC back in 2010/2011. And the truth is nobody knows exactly what happened between Mizzou and the Big Ten - there are only rumors. But obviously we did not end up there, but we did find a seat in the strongest conference in the country, as an equal member.

And then a decade later, we got to watch Texas beg Mizzou for a "yes" vote to join the SEC as well. It's a good thing that we out here in humble Missouri aren't plagued by your Texas arrogance, because otherwise, we might have just remembered how Texas ruined our conference of 100+ years, moved the conference headquarters to Texas from Missouri, created a Longhorn Network that effectively precluded a Big 12 Network, created a league of minions in the Texas and Oklahoma schools to do your bidding, and then your AD made comments like this:
quote:

"We’re going to have good years again,” Dodds promised. “Our bad years are not that bad. Take a school like Missouri. Our bad years are better than their good years. But we’ve created a standard."

LINK
Of course, the year he made that comment coincided with back-to-back division championships for Mizzou while Texas went 8-5 and then 6-7 against the little sisters of the poor.
