Even if you don't care about baseball or college baseball specifically, these guys deserve your attention. They've been absolutely fricked over the coals by the guy that they placed their trust in for their college years. They're a good group of dudes and a good collection of talent. They have a chance to actually finish the season strong and make a legitimate run in the tournament. And now they are dealing with all of this over their heads, stuff they had absolutely nothing to do with.

If you are local, go over to the Joe this weekend or next. These kids deserve it.

They continue to play like they did last night and they will be a tough out for anyone in the tournament.

Hell, they outhit LSU last weekend despite their coach trying to lose on purpose. If it weren't for his idiotic pitching decisions they may have won the series.

It's a good life lesson that shite happens and don't place to much trust in anyone, but yourself.

I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama just ends the season after the regular season is over. Who knows what else is going to come out over this, probably the best bet to end the season.

BB needed to go anyway. Now Alabama just needs to get rid of Murphy.

Why?

He was betting against the team, not for them. To not give these kids an opportunity to prove their true worth on the field would be an even bigger slap in the face from the University.

No. Not even close. I hope the Board of Trustees sue the frick out of Bo and get behind Jackson and the boys the rest of the way.

Some people can’t just be ambivalent about baseball. They have to hate it for some reason. But I’m sure that would be different the moment success is had again.

Since they have established that no players were involved, the school really needs to get out there and make it pretty clear that the players are the biggest victims here. They won't because our PR people suck donkey dick, but this is a real opportunity to spin the shite out of this, boost support for the program, and dump 100% of the blame on that piece of trash.

Most concerned over what the NCAA will do.

UNC Greensboro women's BB got 3 yrs probation and a fine just for some staffers/asst coaches betting and others not reporting it.

Byrne took swift action when the story came to light. But, it is pretty bad and you have to wonder who else knew.

Last nights starter was the starter who was scratched at LSU (Holman).

Think of all the games this season that we've been sitting here saying man we should have won that series or taken at least one game from a top team on the road. Asking why we keep blowing these 4 and 5 run leads and losing close games. Now we know. I've been saying all season this is the most talented and experienced team we've had in a long time and we should have been one of the top 5 or so teams in the conference. And if our coach wasn't actively betting against his own team we would have been. How many games did he cost us? We'd easily have a winning record in the SEC if not for Bo.

Or why he didn't send runners home on obvious scoring plays and how our pitchers threw straight meatballs to hitters with an 0-2 count that they slammed over the fence? How about the insane amount of wild pitches with a runner on 3rd base?

When you start to recall all the WTF moments from games this season it really paints Bo in a disgusting light.

He's just a bad in-game manager, regardless of all the other stuff. And a terrible 3B coach. I'm just glad to have moved on. If we'd fired him without all this I'd have thanked him for taking over a dumpster fire and making it stable again, but after this I don't feel the need to do that.

I think we have a very nice product to sell the next coach, and not having to pay a buy out gives us more cash to offer in addition to the roster and facilities.

I'm with you on that as long as this is all that comes of it. I sincerely hope the NCAA and anyone else can see this for what it is: one bad actor who abused the trust of the University and his players. They need to understand that the baseball program, the players more than anyone, are the real victims in this situation.

Punish Bo all they want he deserves anything coming to him. But don't punish the players. This is the kind of situation that if they feel like it the NCAA could absolutely destroy the program for a long time to come. I really hope they don't decide to do that.

On a related note Byrne needs to work very quickly to identify and hire a home run replacement for Bo if he wants to avoid this year's recruiting class falling apart and the majority of the roster hitting the portal the minute the season is over. I don't think we avoid some of that regardless but he needs to do what he can to limit the damage.

Agree - the happiness evaporates if this becomes a lingering issue with the NCAA.

Our players deserve our support. Especially after being screwed over by an idiot.
Back in early February before the Florida basketball game, they were meeting the fans, signing team posters, engaging in conversation about the upcoming season.
They were all classy and enthusiastic about the upcoming season.
This team has the talent to make a run in the postseason.
As far as whose hired as our next head baseball coach, please no assistant coach. Hopefully Byrne hires an established winner.
