Does USC/UCLA strike you as a geographic or cultural fit for the B1G? A historically Midwest conference. The only similarities they have with the B1G is they're AAU. This is about $$$.

Geographic, frick no.

Culturally, surprisingly yes. Migrating New Englanders aside, PAC and B1G teams play each other before other conferences (drop obvious cross state rivalries)

The B1G has no presence in New England. They don't care much about college football up there. Rutgers and Maryland maybe sort of almost touch the fringe of New England. The original B1G members are about as far from being New Englanders as they are from being west coast.

This is true.

The pac schools have the same ball-shrinkage issues that the big10 has.

They wanted desperately to avoid:
-Aconference champ game
- A game that meant more than the rose bowl
-A playoff.

Their elitism is focused on how to slow the whole thing down so they can have a chance to leap onto the merry go round without getting flung off.

They are too proud of their blue bloods when the southern blue bloods forced the change that you see today.
