"And they're just doubling down, and tripling down, and quadrupling down, because they just don't want to be like 'Well I guess I was wrong'. And now it's getting to a point where, like, people are so far down this road that people have forgotten things, and I'm like, well, I don't know, you know, ah, all I gotta do, er , you just gotta go play good football now in the league."

Start at 18 minute mark on this video.

The whole video gives a pretty good insight to SB. He’s just a football player.

I’m happy to admit that I was wrong about him. I wanted Daniels; he passed the eye test for me and I thought he was the guy that would bring the natty home, but I was wrong about that, and I’m happy to be wrong. Bennett won me over and I’m glad he is a Dawg forever. The guy needs a statue.

2nd part

So hear the second part.. where he breaks down the OSU game.

The most interesting thing is, he mentions he never had a throwing coach. He wasn’t like Lawrence and Young and all the others that just focused on 7-7 in the summer and had private coaches. It was just him and his HS or college coaches, figuring it out. He ended up owning college football. Pretty amazing.

I’ll admit I didn’t think SB was the guy. He won me over against Arkansas in 2021, even though it wasn’t a great day stats wise for him. I was impressed with how he led that day and how the team responded to him. After that, I was sold that he could get us a title.

I was fine with stetson starting against UAB 2021.

After UAB, I said that we could win a championship with stetson.

I didn't expect him to be anything more than a placeholder for JT.
I remember the college football nerds were the first media members that I saw who said Stet could be "the guy".
I thought they were nuts or it was clickbait. Me thinking we could win with him and thinking he was alpha in the depth chart were 2 completely different things.

My biggest fears with stet were his size (got hurt against Florida 2020 and Bama 2020). To be fair, those were the same concerns I threw at Tim Tebow about 15 years earlier.

I always thought Daniels would win the job over Bennett.
When Kirby and Monken kept playing Bennett I thought - well they see these guys in practice every day.
I had faith in the fact they knew what they were doing and stopped fretting over it.

If I recall, Stetson mentioned Daniels had a knee issue that apparently wasn’t being reported at the time of the situation.
