Pre-2009:
"Heisman is no big deal, we care about team awards"
Today:
"We have more Heismans than the barn"
That's why this basketball thing to them was so big. Auburn has reached NCAA heights in that they never have, that's why hoops have never been "important" to them.... until this year. They KNEW they were gonna knock down that Final Four wall that Auburn had over them, PLUS they were gonna win it all, which Auburn hasn't. That's why from the president, AD, on down to the fans they sold their soul and minimized this murder thing, they HAD to have that Final Four team. This was their best chance ever. That's why this one is so crushing to them, whether they admit it or not.

I can tell you, the teams that cheat:
1. Alabama - obviously
2. Auburn
3. Florida - most of the time and if it ain't Florida, well, it's Tennessee
One team that's too stupid to cheat is Texas A&M. They can't even do that rite.

They really just have football…
Overall, Auburn also produces more Olympic gold medalists, legendary athletes, bigtime CEOs, NASA astronauts, and we are ranked higher academically… so honestly, I can understand their obsession….

There's no way you can honestly think LSU is cleaner than Auburn. As someone said, they all do it. But I know there's one that, pre-NIL, did it more and better than anyone else, and they started it back in the 1930's. Now with NIL, their football success has waned.

Bragging about Heismans and Final Four appearances has never made sense to me. Sure...Alabama has more Heisman winners than any other program in the SEC, but that Heisman of Bryce Young's was no consolation prize to losing to Georgia in the CFP Final. And bragging about a Final Four appearance in basketball is like bragging about a CFP appearance in football. It's meaningless if you make it that far and fail to win a national championship.
There are only two kinds of banners that should hang in your basketball arena - conference titles and national titles. Anything else is just a participation trophy.

Yes. I said it the week the scandal broke… had Auburn not gone to the Final Four a few years ago, Miller would have been punished. They looked at this year as their only real shot to catch back up and they would let nothing get in their way

This is how you tell everyone here you know NOTHING about college basketball without saying you know NOTHING about college basketball.
What championship did uat win in 2017 in order to play in the CFP?
What championship did TCU win last year in order to play in the CFP?
Did you know that in order to play in the Final Four you must WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP. You have to win a Regional Championship involving 16 teams from all around the nation. That is why teams cut down the net...AFTER WINNING THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

I disagree because you can sell Final Fours and Heisman trophies to elite recruits - and recruiting is the most important factor in the business…sure coaching, facilities, and NIL matter but many recruits also want to win trophies and awards. The elite recruits want the full package… prestige matters to them.
