Someone said something like, he would of been a 3rd/4th rounder if he went to the draft this year. I think he would of tested very well at the combine, especially this year with everyone drooling over Anthony Richardson. Athleticism matters at the NFL.

With that said, I also don’t think JD went back to LSU if he didn’t think he could improve his draft stock, in a year Caleb Williams is probably the first QB taken. I personally like the guy, but do I think he can be a 1st Round QB? That’s very optimistic, but I don’t even know what to he needs to truly improve on. Has he hit his college ceiling or no?

Yeah, me.

Right now Daniels looks like a future Lamar Jackson. I think he can become a better passer than Jackson.

IMO, Anthony Richardson is not worth a 1st round pick.

Maybe. That depends on a lot of factors, and not all are in his control. Next year we might get a dozen QB's that get first round grades. They ain't all getting drafted first round.

I don't think he's hit his ceiling. There's definitely a lot that needs improving, but there are also things he's really good at.

Zach Mettenberger and Joe Burrow are interesting case studies. Both transferred in, both came into a team with an elite defense(Mett in 2012 and Burrow in 2018). Both had struggles connecting with wide receivers that became elite groups in their second year(ODBJ and Jarvis Landry in 2013, Chase and Jefferson in 2019).

While Daniels is not as timely or accurate as Burrow, he's an elite athlete and has a better brain for the game than Mett did.

Malik Nabers might be the only nationally known name in that LSU WR room right now, but there is serious talent and depth.

The strengths also match up better at TE and the running game. Jeremy Hill and Clyde Edwards-Helaire were better for their teams than anything in LSU's backfield right now, but Daniels does not need an elite RB. He IS the elite runner.

Plus, the current LSU TE room is probably better than anything we've ever had, and that absolutely is a result of Brian Kelly.

I'm optimistic. I like Jayden Daniels. I like his attitude, and I think he's eager and capable of improving in his weaknesses. I'm looking for changes in 2 big areas:
1. Weight. He played at 200 lb last year. That's a little light to run like he does. He needs some more muscle and fat.
2. Throwing receivers open. He has a relatively high completion rate because he's been scared to throw. He needs to trust his receivers to take 50/50 balls and he needs to throw them open.
