I've been pretty understanding of Bama's position but it is fairly galling that the family says that no one from the university has reached out to them. How is that still true? You'd think they would at least refute that. If they have, I missed it.

I'm sure it has to do with what the DA and their lawyers have told them to do.
Two men are still going to trial for murder. If the Unviversity makes a statement supporting the defendents or reaches out to them.in support that could affect potential jurors and effect the outcome of the trial.
But y'all are too dumb to understand things like that.
Go watch the Aaron Hernadez doc and see what Tim Tebow and Brady had to say when reporters were asking them questions.

Well, for starters, maybe they're lying, and the Alabama administration has the good sense to realize that getting into a war of words with the family and calling them out as liars accomplishes nothing.
And don't misquote me. I'm not saying they're lying. But it's certainly possible.

The University was not involved in this and should not be admitting any culpability by reaching out to the family.
