Lots of bad luck for those programs over the years.

I can't speak to UNC and FSU, but I can tell you SC and Clemson met in the CWS twice, once in 2002 and once in 2010. Clemson only had to beat us once each time to make it to the finals. Instead we beat them twice on both occasions to go to the finals. I believe that 4-0 record is the only time they've met in the post-season. They had paired regions in 2011 or 2012 but UConn bounced Clemson so they came to Columbia instead of the Tigers.

Anyway, we went on to win the title in 2010 but lost to Texas in 2002 - the last time the CWS finals were a 1-game-take-all format.

CU was placed in our Columbia regional in 2013. so was Liberty and Storm Toman - who had let's just say - "less patience" - for Jacklegg's ridiculous theater on a baseball diamond more than anyone on Ray's staff over the years.

Liberty beat Jacklegg twice so USC/CU never had to play. Toman was awesome that weekend. the Liberty fans we met/tailgated with were awestruck at how many Gamecock fans were in the ballpark for the LU/CU games - in many instances more vocal than the LU fans.
