I miss Cecil Hurt

Seeing all of the clearly biased, corrupt media coverage makes me miss the professionalism of Cecil Hurt. He was definitely a hometown media guy but he was honest and objective in his articles. He was the voice of reason. The past week has been an embarrassment to the media world.

Yes. We all miss Cecil. His calm, collected demeanor would help during this craziness.

He was one of the greatest and an absolute saint compared to these Jack wagons

100%. He’s sorely missed.
Cecil certain leaned towards UA but he wasn’t a fan boy. He was always the adult in the room and the voice of reason. Even when he was calling us out, his takes weren’t dripping with click bait. He was tailor made for stories like this and I submit that he would’ve set the tone in framing this whole narrative.
The state media is dearly missing someone like Cecil. How AL.com can cover our state without someone who is “UA-friendly” is a baffling business decision to me. Unfortunately he was probably the last of his kind.

I hope that AL.com goes out of business sooner rather than later. Emphasis on sooner.

I always looked forward to Cecil's Sunday morning columns after a football game. Win or lose he always had a way of telling you things even if you didn't want to hear them and he'd be right. Cecil had one thing a lot of journalist don't have now, class.

Cecil was a true journalist. And one of the last.

He is and it's a damn shame.

Al.com is poison. That entire company is pure garbage. Don’t see how they stay in business.

The way Cecil wrote reminded me of Benny Marshall. A writer for the Post Herald. A friend of Bryant but would let him know what he thought about the good the bad or the ugly of UofA sports.
Two of the Best.
