A little over 2 weeks to selection Sunday. If there are no major upsets in the conference tournaments that would result in some conferences giving out extra bids due to advanced qualifying rules, then the Top 46 teams should get into the field.
According to Bracket Matrix, this is where SEC teams stand:
1- Alabama (1-seed)
9- Tennessee (3-seed)
31- Arkansas (8-seed)
32- Missouri (8-seed)
33- Auburn (9-seed)
34- Texas A&M (9-seed)
36- Kentucky (9-seed)
44- MS State (11-seed)
We could legit get 8 teams in and have just 1 or 2 make it to the second round.
State doesn’t have much breathing room. With likely upset in conference tourneys, they are likely right on the cut off or just outside at the moment.

If Auburn loses two of the next three, are they lower than a 9 seed?

The Killer Miller show will be lucky to get past the sweet 16 imo. One of the weakest one seeds i’ve ever seen. Overall there’s a lot more parity in cbb this year so should make for a good tournament.

If there’s so much parity this year then Alabama will go past the Sweet 16.

Nah, Oats teams style of play isn’t built for deep runs but will see. If Killer Miller has an off night their screwed

This Alabama team and style of play is definitely built for a deep run. Their 24-4 record supports that.

Sure thing Trojan1998, whatever helps you sleep at night. Check back in April

SEC is in a down year, seeding will help UA and UT but I don’t see any team making the Elite 8

Game Saturday against A&M is make or break. I think we need to win our last 3 games to feel good about being in.

Bama and Arky can for sure. Bama just better hope Miller doesn't go cold on the wrong night and Arky has Nick Smith back. They're a huge dark horse bracket buster for those that know better.
No faith in Tennessee.
aTm I can see making the Sweet 16.
MSU can make some noise as a lower seed. Jans is an underrated coach. Don't think they have the depth to go very far, but they can absolutely get an upset or 2.
Mizzou maybe. Defense carries in the NCAAT. I just don't know if their guard play is good enough to go very far, but they can for sure make an upset or two.

Probably. We have a minimum of 4 games left. Here’s how I see our seeding playing out based on how we perform:
0 wins: one of the last teams OUT
1 win: one of the last 4 teams IN (play-in)
2 wins: 9-seed
3 wins+: 8-seed
I don't see us winning more than three between now and the NCAA Tourney. I think most likely is 2 wins and a 9-seed. Beating UT at home. Winning one in Nashville.

There are still a few games left to prove it

I don’t see them seeding a SEC team lower than 9. Most of those spots are reserved for the champions of the lower league conferences, ex. The Atlantic Sun, Patriot League, Ohio Valley, etc. There’s been times in the past when it’s happened but not with conference being down this bad.

If we win 2 of the next 3 we will be a fairly safe 7 seed imo
Posted on 2/23/23 at 11:33 am to ChadThundercock
This just isn't true. The 10 and 11 and 12 seed lines are generally chalked full of bubble teams from any conference as well as a couple stronger champs of lower conferences

If State gets in, they are going to be tough to prep for on short notice. They could be a double digit seed that gets to the second weekend.

This isn't true. State was a 14 seed one time.
There were 9 Power 5 teams seeded between 9-12 last year.
