How is the UT/OK arrival going to change up the Thanksgiving weekend games in 2024?
These are staying for certain:
Alabama - Auburn
Ole Miss - MS State
Florida - Florida St
Georgia - GA Tech
Kentucky - Louisville
South Carolina - Clemson
These two may change:
TN - Vandy
Arkansas - Missouri
This one will definitely change:
LSU - TX A&M
Assuming the Longhorns and Aggies are paired up, does LSU get Oklahoma? That would be a blue blood matchup. Or do they go back to Arkansas? Then Missouri would be paired with Oklahoma.
I believe it has already been decided that OK and Okie State wont play anymore.
My 2024 guess would be:
Alabama - Auburn
Ole Miss - MS State
Florida - Florida St
Georgia - GA Tech
Kentucky - Louisville
South Carolina - Clemson
Texas - Texas A&M
TN - Vandy
LSU - Arkansas
Oklahoma - Missouri
I bet ESPN will fight hard to get LSU to play Oklahoma though.

So hard to figure out who the perms are going to be for some schools. And you’d have to figure that out first.
LSU is one of them.
OU or Arky I s’pose
LSU and OU would be pretty cool.
The good news for ESPN is that there will be no boring weekends.

UTa and Oklahoma will still play the Red River Rivalry.
Bama and Tennessee will still have their 3rd Weekend in October.
So there may, and probably will-be, rivalry games played before Thanksgiving Weekend. There are plenty of rivalry games, already set in stone (as the OP has listed), to cover the conferences' TV inventory demands for Thanksgiving Weekend (including the Friday after Thanksgiving).
Trying to contrive anymore is unnecessary.
Texas A&M vs UTa would probably-be the one exception that could-be scheduled for that weekend.
I'm not sure a deal isn't going-to-be done that allows Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to play their game that weekend ... and, IMHO, that game/rivalry should be preserved. If T. Boone Pickens were still alive it would be. Ok state politicians would insure that it is still played if Pickens were still alive.

I said this in another thread but I’ll say it again.
Move the Boot back to black Friday of Thanksgiving weekend. With TU and A&M playing on Thanksgiving. And have a Big 8 matchup with Mizzou and OU for their final week. That would still give them the ability to eventually move that game and close out their year playing Kansas and Oklahoma State, respectfully, if ever agreed upon.

LSU vs Oklahoma would be interesting. Make it a rivalry.

Why would LSU play Oklahoma during the Thanksgiving rivalry game weekend? There’s no history there. If A&M game with LSU that weekend is scrapped for them to start playing UTA that weekend, then I predict LSU-Arky game will be that weekend.

Texas and OU will still play in the first or second weekend of October since it's at the cotton bowl and that's when the state fair is.
I would imagine it will either be Texas/a&m or Texas/Arkansas in the final weekend. More likely the former than the latter

Agreed. This makes way too much sense though so they probably wont
