Because Daddy Dale had Shaq, Stanley Robert’s, and Chris Jackson on the same team - and couldn’t get past the second round! Nobody could waste more talent than DB! SMDH

This is pretty much what I'm talking about; many of our fans will bang on Dale for underachieving with ultra-talented teams (rightfully so in that situation), but ignore the fact he got to a Final 4 as a 11 seed in 1986 and was robbed of a Final 4 in 1987 in a one-point loss to Indiana (in the single biggest screw job I've ever seen a LSU team get in any sport) with a starting lineup of Darryl Joe, Anthony Wilson, Nikita Wilson, Bernard Woodside and Oliver Brown (and no bench to speak of). Just no context with LSU fans when it comes to Dale.

Yes, DB overachieved a few times in his 28 years at LSU, but you can count them all using one hand. I remember Bobby Knight saying something like “I was worried that we were going to lose the game, then I looked over at Dale Brown and stopped worrying “
