I do think Pruitt will get some leniency from the NCAA because he's been out of the game for more than two years now and got no buyout. Maybe time served or a one year suspension.

I'm not too sure. Here is a list of recent show causes that the NCAA has issued that someone on another site posted:

quote:

- Gottfried got a three-year show-cause plus a suspension of 40% of the first season after the conclusion of his show-cause order should he be hired by another NCAA school for impermissible inducements and contact violations
- Chuck Person was given 10 yrs in the Barn case for accepting bribes
- Assistant at Zona got 10 yrs for soliciting and accepting $ and transcript manipulation
- Two assistants in the recent LSU case got 3 yrs for impermissible contact only
- Orlando Early in the NC State case got 6 years for arranging $40K in payments
- People (not Freeze) received 8, 5, and 2 year show causes in the Ole Miss case

Given the UT case involves 18 Level I (major) allegations, many of which involve Pruitt directly, it would be surprising if he did not get at least 3 years based on some of these cases.

I'm starting to lean towards agreeing with that poster.

Saban definitely got word that he was getting a suspension because of not he would’ve been our DC. I think the Gottfried suspension is the only one you posted that matters and is likely what close to what he gets. The rest were all assistants. The HC never gets it as bad as the assistants get it. Plus, all of Pruitt’s violations were low dollars. If the players were still at UT they would’ve just had to pay the money back to a charity like our guys had to do after the infamous fishing trip of ‘09.

The case at slUT will involve burning Fulmer to the ground if the NCAA torches Pruitt.

Fat Phil was their star witness in 2000, and has been an NCAA informant for 4 decades now. Fatty will burn if Pruitt is given a ridiculous show cause.
