I'm sure this isn't the first time that a university owned vehicle has gotten into some degree of an accident. I wonder if there's an agreement that an employee must sign that outlines their responsibilities, rights, and restrictions for using university owned property. If so the university would be protected to some degree in light of any violations to the agreement.

She very well could have been breaking a rule and damned if they would toss her under the bus in this moment.

It would also be silly to take any responsibility legally…even if they had some. Courts don’t reward you for that.

Nothing that young woman signed will absolve the University if this sort of thing was happening with any regularity. If it was, then the University knew or should have known.
