i don't know what to tell you. i literally quoted billy's own words for you.
if you think it's to gauge pubic interest on a Thursday night for a spring game....

1. Thursday night allows access to the recruits and allows access to those especially who intend to leave the state Friday to go to an Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson or Georgia.
2. You're relying on the student body to fill seats more than traditional fans and season ticket holders. Understanding the dynamics of having a strong fan base, and Jacksonville/Tampa are within 3 hours, focus on spring being about the kids experiencing it for themselves. You want them to be there for the regular season as well. It's a bigger priority for Billy as he's focused on future donors, because the message board geniuses mostly don't pay much.
3. Prime time TV. Not only will you have the recruits, but now that it's planned in advance, you'll get the airtime. Having all eyes on the Gators on a Thursday night when everyone is starving to see something is genius. Not only fans want to watch but so do rivals.
4. The schedule sets up for Easter weekend once again and getting kids from Miami or further might be actually more difficult. They tend to go to the closest game possible on a Saturday so schools like Coral Gables, Auburn, Tennessee or even Georgia. The students haven't left town yet either. It's a NIL affect to it.
5. If you can get them in town Thursday night, you can possibly get them to stay into Saturday or Sunday. Gives you more time to recruit.

Do you know how QB Max Brown intends to juggle football and baseball? Will football practice always take priority?
