TCU being a smaller market team plus the game being a mega blowout, is anybody surprised?

TCU is in the biggest TV market of all of the playoff teams.

they just don't control that market.

Window dressing

In the end, you want teams that get people to watch. It is why the B1G can push because they bring eyeballs, same with Utx, and USCrubbers. Alabama and Georgia are good, just not enough people live in their markets. The reason the Rose Bowl got ratings was not the quality of the teams, it got ratings because it had a parade (with flowers) to attract non football fans and lots of eyeballs in the upper midwest and west coast.

Notre Dame is somewhat valuable for their national fan base but their real value is fans of other schools who tune in hoping to see them lose.
