Anyone mentioned this? I saw it and thougt that it should have been called even though the game was on the line. Only call egregious penalties at that point.

There was egregious holding on almost every play and not in the “there’s always holding on every play” kind of way.

They didn't call holding all night for either side, but Jalen was getting mugged like a hooker in a Memphis alley all night.

Part of OSUs game plan for sure - why wouldn’t you try to hold if it doesnt ever get called?

actually all 4 d lineman were held on that play. and I agree it happened all night long.

And read the comments with all the OSU fans defending it as a legal pancake.
The guy bearhugged Carter and tackled him.

The egregious holding was absolutely horrible all game, fwiw.

GA fans just can’t help themselves! It’s part of their DNA to complain about refs, especially when they were losing. It’s actually carrying over to games they win.
My God talk about beating a dead horse.

Every game thread I read this week has been critical of the referee’s, and every game had “neutral” crews. Holding seemed to be the most discussed call/no call.
In this case, my opinion is, “ do you want some bacon with your pancakes?”
OL is in contact (body to body) with the DL from initial contact to the ground, At no time does the OL extend his arms away from his body and he does not impede the direction of the DL, the OL follows the direction the DL is moving, you do not see a jersey pulled or stretched. Simply holding the jersey is not a penalty. Holding the jersey with the arms extended to the point of impeding the progress of the DL is holding. OL stayed in contact, followed the DL, and road him to the ground. PANCAKE!!!
Go watch The Blind Side. Oher has a 2 handfuls of motor mouth from initial contact until he pushes him over the fence.

Excuses for a badly played game by UGA? UGA better step it up or TCU will carry a trophy home. This may well be TCU’s year.

I hear you. Just seems to me the OL had his right arm on the outside shoulder pad of Carter, Carter got by him and he literally tackled him. Like I said, only egregious penalties a that point. Would have been a tough call to make as a ref.

Saw that. Probably the most blatant hold, but there were many more. I think it was part of the OSU game plan as long as they could get away with it, and I don’t blame them. Offensive holding is the great equalizer, if the refs don’t call it.

And Pac-12 officials don't call it a lot.

Sounds like you’re about a day from your monthly Crimson Tide. It’ll be okay.
