...but yesterday makes me look forward to the expansion even though it will really kill the lesser bowls who are already on life support.

TCU proved the Big12 has a chance and
BAMA and Tenn would make final 4 this year with 12 teams in.

Just trading what used to be an awesome regular season for a better playoffs. I remember when every game of 12 was high stakes and pressure packed. Those were good times.

I’ve been against it also but TCU kinda changed my mind but I also think it will cut down on opt outs if more teams are in contention.

Without Bryce Bama is a 4-5 loss team

Without him moving forward

And with Saban in decljne

Bama will still be missing the playoffs even with expansion

Y’all had a good run but now it’s time to become nascar fans again gumps

I see Sabans crying has been passed down to the tide fans. The Bama decline is REAL

You were against the expanded playoffs until Alabama couldn’t make the 4 team cut anymore. Got it.

I think the portal and opt outs will ultimately be more detrimental to the lesser bowls than the playoffs will be.

My optimal playoff was a 6 teamer with the top two seeds getting a bye” to reward them. I think 6 is plenty and is demonstrably plenty most years. This year would have had Alabama and Tennessee in, as it appears should be warranted, and the two undefeated teams would have received byes. You also stand a good chance at getting most the conferences in with a rep and don’t water things down too much at 6.

I'm also a graduate of a perennial D-II contender/champion (Valdosta State).

Playoffs are much more fun and interesting than bowls.

However, 12 regular season games plus a conference championship game prior to the playoffs beginning is a lot to expect from the players. The conference championship games will actually make the road to the natty harder for the teams that make them than the teams like this year's Bamma and UT.

Go back to 11 games. Eliminate the conference championship game. Use that week for the first round of the playoffs.

Have the national championship game on New Year's Day.

Considering that Alabama was gifted the wins against Texas and Ole Miss by shitty officials, the 4 loss Bama team didn't deserve a sniff of the playoff this season.

The only thing I like about an expanded play-off is that the higher ranked teams will have a chance to play the game in their home stadium . As it is now, only a select few teams have the luxury of having a psuedo home game for a chance at the championship..

I think it’ll make for some good matchups for sure. The only concern for me is the teams that have just accumulated more talent than everyone else will be able to sleep through the first 15 weeks of the season. Georgia loses to Mizzou or Kent ST? Who cares

So Alabama fans do no want playoff expansion until they don't make the playoffs and now they want the expansion?

4 is more than enough. Any team who fails to make it in should've taken care of business in the regular season. There were only 2 undefeated teams following conference championship week. Honestly the BCS would work just fine most years, making every game count again. These days whenever it looks like Bama might take it's first L of the season, I don't freak out like I used to because one loss doesn't even matter most years

I was against it at first also. Now thinking it might be good. I suspect top 4 will have byes the first round...so it adds two extra rounds to the play offs.
