Talent?
Something is causing a Blue Blood to lose regularly. Texas averages 5.6 losses a year in the last 10 years and just finished this season with 5 losses.
What is your opinion of why Texas has entered this rut.

It is a conundrum for sure. The culture definitely seems odd and there’s quite a large “me first” attitude amongst a lot of the personnel.
I’m not quick to put it all on Sarkisian just yet because it’s only his second year, the team at least shows marked improvement from last year, and some things happened that were out of his hands, as last nights loss was much more on the players than it was the coaching.
A lot of programs have gone through this type of down period before. Unfortunately for texas, they’re still drudging through it. Still believe Sarkisian is capable, but time will tell. Next season will be huge for him, and I’m not sure how anything less than 10 wins will be accepted

Like any disaster, it is a combination of factors.
- Poor head-coaching hires
- Recruiting classes over-inflated by skill position players while the lines (especially the o-line) were poorly recruited
Also, while 100 dollar handshakes occur everywhere, Texas didn't cheat at an institutional level. There is a reason Texas agreed to join the SEC 1 month after the Alston SCOTUS case set the stage for NIL. Texas will get better because we are now getting better linemen because we are, and will continue to win, these important bidding wars.

UT and A&M are like Batman and Joker. They hate each other, but they absolutely need each other. They are a part of each other's identity.
We're brothers and we're in each other's fight song. For more than a hundred years, T+1 was the biggest game between teams within the state.
Not playing the game opened the door for other schools like TCU and Baylor to make hay against both schools. 3 of Baylor's 10 conference championships came since 2013. TCU had a share in 2014 and is the first non-OU B12 team in the CFP. Good for them for taking advantage.
To win national titles, we need to lock down the state. Can't do that if there's no clear alpha school. Texas playing A&M will restore order in the state, and whoever can go on a streak will establish a dominant position.
Either that or the Longhorn Network is cursed.
