Was this season Saban's worst coaching job at Alabama?

Personally I don't have a strong opinion and I have no idea whether or not it is because Alabama is not my team and I don't follow them that closely.

He told us that last year was a rebuilding year.

It wasn't a very good one, no

Maybe. He had some other championship caliber teams shite the bed along the way.
But, you can't win every year. How well he has sustained high end success, even short of NC trophies in this era of CFB is damn impressive

Closely enough to start a disparaging thread ?

He needs to lay into his assistants like he used to. Or tell them hit the road if they can’t do the job.

Yes, games were Mike Shula predictable. But, he learns from these better than anyone.

That and "next year" was pretty much Georgia's official tag line up until 2021...

No, the blame for this year’s lackluster performance rest on the shoulders of two assistant coaches.

Finishing #5 in the country is his worst coaching job in 15 years?
Okay.
Okay.

I don’t think it was bad per se, he’s just getting older. It’s a demanding job, very hard to do it at an elite level in your 70’s.

I think he had less to work with than in the past.

I get the feeling he is keeping Golding, and will probably keep BOB if no one else hires him.

That's largely true, but the one who holds accountability for them is also the HC.
It is a NC team that is lucky to be where they ended up.
Promising talent and future. Hopefully the team looks at Bryce and Will's playing in the Sugar Bowl as the team first culture that is needed. It's an underrated story of selflessness in the current era of CFB.
I'll take that as a win, even if a scrappy KSU team pulls it off.

Yeah, we didn’t like it. Losing two games by four points on the last play of the game on the road with only a slight chance to win 11 games is demoralizing. I may not watch the Sugar Bowl. Why bother, right?

Has Rece been lobbying for anyone else to hire him? He laid it on thick for both LSU and Auburn.
Btw Rece, if you’re reading this

Since January we were told that this is the team that Saban had been building towards and that this year's Bama team might be his most talented yet. And last year was the little team that could and a bunch of underdogs and just wait until you see the 2022 team.

Talent doesn't equal team, and oftentimes, they can be detrimental concepts to each other if not manged/coached.
The coaching and culture was off.
Saban adjusts better than anyone, we'll see how the GOAT bounces back

If you want to look at the overall staff, and say that he is where the buck stops, then yes. I think he made some errors in a few coaching positions and the defensive schemes shouldn't have been allowed either.

Saban better fix his coaching staff fast. They aren't getting the job done. Its not his worst coaching year, its his worst HIRING job of bad coaches.
