With the new NIL stuff and and open transfer portal, can colleges require kids to commit contractually, like an employer who offers hiring incentives? Has anyone tried this avenue to retain players?

Whatever happens, they need to be required to play in all (bowl) games barring injury.
They quit, no money and any prior money has to be returned or repaid.

They can, if they change the rules. But that’s what they’ve been trying to avoid. They don’t want an employer employee situation.

That’s why they always spent the money on new stupid things, so they could say we don’t have the money to pay them.

While I agree what is to stop a player from claiming he is hurt or sick?
