No doubt? Mayer may be slower, but he had better stats and is a better blocker.
And I hate Notre Dame.

Ehhhhh.
UGA is 5.53 ypr.
Notre Dame is 4.51 ypr.
UGA loves to run behind the tight ends.
Bowers has had an excellent season blocking.
37 rushing TDs for UGA vs 22 for Notre Dame as well.

Michael Mayer is not in the same area code as Brock Bowers. And Michael Mayer is a very solid tight end who will have a long NFL career.
Brock Bowers is in the Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Rob Gronkowski tier. Very solid, lots of targets and catches.........and also explosive enough to make the opponent have to change the way they scheme their coverage. If you get caught with a LB on him on the wrong play, he'll go 65 yards for a touchdown. The other guys below are not threats to do that. These guys are.
Michael Mayer is in the Mark Andrews, Pat Freiermuth, Cole Kmet, TJ Hockensen, Dawson Knox tier. Very solid, lots of targets and catches, good blocker........but not explosive enough to force teams to change how they scheme coverage.
