I know his pre-coaching career will always have him more FL than anything else.

But coaching wise, he was at Florida for 12 seasons and South Carolina for 11 seasons, that always kinda blows my mind.

Spurrier is a Florida grad, but don't sell his time at CoSo short, he loves Carolina.

He retired, yes. He "quit" Florida for another job

He retired when he realized he wasn't the guy for the job anymore. Some people would find that admirable to know when it's best for the program to find a coach who is better suited to win than he was at that point rather than collecting another 6 games of paychecks and forcing the program to fire him and pay a buyout to do it.
