You’re way overthinking it. He’s lost entirely too many coaches to poaching and it’s finally caught him

I think the NIL gives Saban less control than he previously had, but it’s fair to say Saban is goat while mentioning they’re really poorly coached right now

This is an honest take. Bama is just two solid coordinator hires away from greatness. Need to write a blank check and pull two known quantities.

It's pretty much this, and I think he knows it as well. He knows the coaches we have right now aren't up to keeping the standard. Especially on offense.

If you can read between the lines, you can hear it when he talks, even though he doesn't say it directly.

If you could pick any person in the world to pick your replacement staff, who would it be? Nick Saban. That's what I see. But you can't do that in October or November.

If we don't see major changes after the season, that's when I'll start to worry about Saban.

This doesn't explain the discipline issues this season. Saban's teams were always excellent at not beating themselves with penalties. The penalties and trash talking are very different than what we're used to seeing from them.
