As some of you may recall, I attended the Mizzou game this year for Homecoming with my wife, so she could participate in AU Alumni Band.
While she was on the field at halftime, standing just below the AU logo at midfield, she reached into her pocket and emptied the little ziploc bag containing some of the ashes of her mother (API 1951) and my father (API 1952).
So, when ESPN showed the graphic saying that AU hadn’t lost 6 straight since the 1950 season, I said to my wife “wow, that’s when our folks were both at Auburn”. She replied, “they’re out there on that field right now, they won’t let it happen.”
War Damn.

Powerful story.
Ashes were found on the field the day after the Kick Six. No one was ever identified.
