1) Never happened
OR
2) There was no mass freak out over Covid?
This is not about politics. Would like some discussion on how you think Covid affected CFB.

(1) or (2) 2020 Bama team would have played two extra rent-a-victims and would have posted even more insane offensive numbers.
No one was touching that team, it was absurdly good.

Half of OSUs DL was out due to Covid. Their defensive scheme sucked, but they were missing players. As were most teams that year.
ETA: People forget how some conferences had a very limited season. SEC basically put the saddle down, and said “we’re playing”.

(1) recruiting rankings and who we targeted and took in the 2021 class would be different. 2022 recruits would have been identified and targeted earlier in the cycle.

Boom. Talent evaluation. It affected every team. No camps in 2020, how many in 2021?

don’t remember 2021 camp specifics but it didn’t just affect talent evaluation it also affected talent development. The 21’ class pre senior year summer was all screwed up. That’s a huge developmental period they lost.

Yep. It also affected future prospects, from both a football and mental perspective if you believe the test scores.

Did it affect Georgia’s evaluations and camps? They seemed to do ok with defensive players and tight ends. Not trying to be an arse, I’m really asking, I don’t follow recruiting like some do.

Impossible to know if Ohio State even would've been in that game absent COVID. They played half a schedule.
