Think about it…

GA wins out
TCU wins out
OSU or Michigan win out
Oregon wins out

GA gets first pick in playoff locations and we choose Mercedes, which we will.

How crazy to beat them again in Atlanta at the end of the season

TCU has to play on the road vs Texas and Baylor. I don't like those odds but if they win out they surely deserve a playoff spot.
I think Georgia will beat LSU in the SECCG and Tennessee will get a spot.
If that happens then Georgia could possibly play 2 teams they have already beaten in the regular season in the playoffs though I would think the committee would adjust the rankings to avoid at least one of those matchups.

Committee is not looking to put in a team who didn’t play for their champ game and who just got beat pretty badly

They don’t want the rematch we have seen that from their picks in the past

Anything can happen, but it feels like

1.Georgia(SEC Champ)
2.Ohio State(BIG Champ, advantage UM @home)
3.Oregon(PAC Champ, playing better than LA schools)

Tennessee(1 loss), Michigan(1 loss), TCU(1 loss), Clemson(1 loss)

I think Tennessee gets the advantage with wins vs LSU and Bama...Michigan beat Penn State and ????

Peach-1.Georgia vs 4.Oregon
Fiesta-2.Ohio State vs 3.Tennessee

Now, if Michigan wins at Ohio State, I could definitely see the Buckeyes getting the Bama treatment and getting the last spot because of name

Peach-1.Georgia vs 4.Ohio State
Fiesta-2.Michigan vs 3.Oregon

USC has one loss as well.Dont see why the winner between those 2 wouldn't go if they keep winning.

1 loss Clemson would get in over Tennessee in that case

also, if Tennessee does get in, they will be #4 and play us in the 1st game, committee does that to guarantee no all SEC championship game

GA/UT rematch is a last case scenario for the committee

For the following reasons:
1) Bama win doesn’t look good anymore.
2) UT got throttled by GA
3) UT will not be playing in conf champ game
4) 1 loss conf champ gets in over UT
5) UT’s remaining schedule sucks and they will be forgotten

Tennessee isn’t going in this scenario.

UGA wins the SEC
TCU is unbeaten and wins the B12
Mich/OSU winner is B10 winner.
Oregon wins out and wins P12.

Playoff field would then be:

1. UGA
2. TCU
3. B10 winner
4. Oregon.

Oregon has 42% odds to win the PAC and that scenario really requires us to win out.

Ranking Tennessee #1 and Georgia #3 last week makes the committee look like complete frauds.

The AP poll got it right last week. The coaches poll got it right. Las Vegas got it right. But the cfp committee wanted some “equity” and to get eyeballs on their espn reveal show and all the clicks afterwards, so they followed the media who were all slobbering over the shiny new object.

If committee is legit, wherever they choose to put UT this week, it should be based on them dropping from the #3 spot, not #1 which they never deserved

Will be interesting to see where they put UT and Oregon since their losses are both to the same team. I’d have Oregon ahead of UT if I were a czar

UGA
Michigan
Oregon
Ohio State

If TCU loses and Michigan wins out. UGA wins out.

UGA
Ohio State
Oregon
TCU

What they want to see. 4 conf champs.

UGA
Ohio State
Michigan
TCU
Oregon
LSU
Tennessee
Clemson
USC

All still in the mix.

Alabama still managed to stay in AP top 10 with 2 losses. Clemson loses one and falls to #12

The power of the Alabama brand is unbelievable . Their very near losses to Texas and Tex A&M have been memory holed apparently

If Oregon gets in, they’ll get a 3 seed vs tOSU to avoid a rematch w us. We’d play TCU in your scenario.

No but I will also say the 2018 Rose Bowl was the greatest game I’ve ever been to. Wish I’d gone to Miami last year. Wouldn’t mind Fiesta.

Exactly. Its a obvious advantage in a playoff scenario and on a side note, puts more money in our players pockets.

Congrats on the Lanning hire and having a great season. Cristobal bailing for Miami looks like a blessing in disguise. They look like an absolute dumpster fire.
