Can anyone explain why Harsin still has a job at the end of October?

Barn has been trying to fire this man for nearly 2 years at this point. Does his buyout drop some time later this season? Why hasn't Auburn done what everyone knows is coming?

New President who wants to apparently do everything painfully by the book coupled with - I suspect - trying to get a hire at AD who could bring booster factions together to support a coaching search/hire.
IF that's what's going on, I get the logic, but we could also wind up hiring a birthday party rent-a-clown in February and I wouldn't be surprised.

No AD right now. Interview process has seemed longer than expected. Hopefully they announce the new AD soon so we can move on.

They will retain him through the year because they have to pay him anyway.

I would imagine that will be the next AD's first mission, firing Harsin and searching for a new Head ball coach..

Pretty simple, they haven't found anyone with enough brain damage to be their AD.
