Defense Doesn't Matter

I don't wanna ever hear one word about the defense ever again. I don't wanna hear about how great they played, how terribly they played, how nasty our defense is gonna look, who our DC is, any of it.
DEFENSE DOES NOT MATTER IN MODERN CFB. PERIOD.
Saban needs to realize this. Huepel sure as hell knows this.
The success of the future of this program has everything to do with our QB, our WRs, and our offensive coaching staff. Period.
It has nothing at all to do with Pete Golding, or pass rushers, or DBs, or anything else. Modern defense is just cannon fodder.

Georgia isn’t as good offensively as Tennessee, but they will win handily while not giving up 52 points. I can guarantee you that.

Nope. It’s Saban’s fault. He allows his defense to be run by slack jaw. Bob is shite. The only reason this offense is good is because of BY at the helm. He extends shite play calls to our best athletes. Our defense is hot fricking garbage and that’s on the old man.

Nah they definitely will beat them at home. UT really isn't a consistent offense against a capable defense that plays competent defense

I think Georgia will win, but this TN team isn't an easy out for anyone. This isn't the Georgia of last year. This Georgia squad squeaked by Mizzou. It's not all sunshine and rainbows over in Athens. Don't forget we shredded tf out of them last year.

I mean, they don't matter in the Big 12 where shootouts happen regularly or in the Pac-12 where it's just sad football being played. But here in the SEC, if you want to win games, you have to make sure your defense plays well enough.
Defense does matter, because if we played efficiently today on the defensive side of the ball, we would have won.
If you don't have a defense, you better have a good offense to try and balance things out. Defense holds up the offense and vice-versa.

Sometimes one team gets all of the calls and all of the bounces.
This game sucked arse, but I think you're overestimating Georgia who squeaked by Mizzou and Kent State. I don't think Bulldog fans were too thrilled about their defense after the SECCG last year.
In modern football, EVERY defense will get shredded once or twice a year.

Just wait until UT plays UGA. They, UT, will still move the ball but UGA won’t look woefully incompetent. I predict they knock Hooker silly and win something like 40-21.

One of your points highlights what I am frustrated so much about. We have poor discipline and we are very poorly coached, especially on defense. We’re good for at least 10 penalties a game now. We slop around on the field against any team we don’t completely out talent. I miss the way we used to be a disciplined, focused machine. No SEC team we play the rest of the year will think they don’t have a good shot at us.

This is back when defense mattered, and offenses didn't run 80 plays a game.
Times change. We are still disciplined and focused, but we're getting screwed by refs on the road.
