Was firing Les Miles a bad decision by LSU?

I remember SEC fans being mad at LSU because they got rid of a good thing and LSU would never recover. The only job offer he received was Kansas and I believe he made a winless team even worse. This is all before we knew he was harassing co-eds.

No, hiring Ed O was the bad decision.

Les was violated rectally by 1/9/12 and never recovered.
The fire left him after that. Became ultra conservative unless he was pulling the annual fake punt at Florida.

I’m the long run it led to 2019 and the hiring of BK who is a better coach. Les was never going to change. And he was creepy to boot while here. Glad we moved on…

It's an interesting question. He was usually a solid 9/10 win guy who was having an odd downturn. Would he have corrected it? We'll never know. He could have probably gotten it all together again at another school if he hadn't waited so long before he fricked around with the Kansas thing.

His firing was not due to his coaching. It was due to his off-the-field activities.

SEC fans were mad but LSU fans were not. SEC fans knew Les would keep LSU relevant but never great again….always beatable. The thumping by Bama in the natty changed Les
