I think you can squeeze in Jamaree Salyer as OG on this list over Schaffer. Other than that, can’t argue.

good list. The only thing that would immeidatley make me hesitate is the receivers. Our passing game was lethal in 2018 so I'd probably want to squeeze one of those dudes in, probably ridley.

-Pickens is a no brainer, in either 19 or 20.
-Mckenzie had a unique skillset so no real argument there.
-I LOVE wims, but his game is pretty much concentrated to either jump balls or back shoulders. Granted he was elite at both of them, but still. Just for the sake of this exercise I'd probably take him off and replace with ridley.

I'd take Starks over LeCounte already. Smith is better than Richard. Dom Sanders is too probably.

Did Richie steal your girl or something? He was consensus 1st team All-SEC. None of the guys you listed have any honors.

Smith certainly is not better than LeCounte and Sanders is kinda laughable. Yeah he has the INT record but he got burned a LOT and was average at best in run defense.

I’m with you 100% on all of this. Except writing off Dom. He was elite his entire career, but one bad play ruined his career. Him and Lecounte is a tough call for me, but Dom was much better at creating turnovers. They both are DGD’s just my opinion!

Just think is he overrated. Missed a lot of tackles, not great at forcing turnovers, no memorable moments. Never really lived up to the hype in my opinion.

If he stays healthy I could see Smith getting All SEC this year.

Lecounte also liked to bounce off ball carriers instead of tackle them.

This was true until 2020. That was the year it all came together for him, even though he was injured for a lot of it. He was a really good football player that year.

That was my first thought as well.

I don't mind projecting...
Starks over Cine.
Tate Ratledge over Cleveland.
Ladd McConkey over Isaiah McKenzie (he can do everything McKenzie can do at receiver plus block on the perimeter and downfield).

Javon Wims shouldn't be on the list (we should have a better option). If healthy, I'd take Lawrence Cager over Wims. Hopefully soon, we can get an upgrade over those 2.

Think Starks will do his career at Safety or will he slide over to true DB?

Starks is big. If anything he’ll eventually be a hybrid safety/ backer. Not a straight up corner.

Dont think so, Wimms was Fromms man and we could depend on him for 3rd down.

One year, Fromm threw 50/50s to Holloman. One year it was Wims. One year it was Cager. If healthy, I take cager out of those 3.

Ideally, we get someone capable enough to keep all of them off the list.

Even as a freshman, Starks is doing everything.
Safety
star defender
Dime linebacker
Playing man to man on the corner against a tight end.

But Wimms going out hurt us vs Bama as much or more than Michel, it is subtle but valuable.

Cager got hurt against South Carolina in 2019 and we lost any sense of an offense.

He was also injured against LSU (no offense).

UGA was beating Bama in 2018 before Holloman got hurt as well.

Impossible to argue with Nakobe and Roquan but I have a soft spot in my heart for Channing Tindall
