Kentucky depth at RB in Week 2

With Chris Rodriguez suspended and Ramon Jefferson tearing his ACL, is there anyone outside of Kevosey Smoke to carry the ball effectively?
Florida really struggled with defending the rush in the 2nd half of the Utah game and Utah's OL really imposed their will. This is definitely the most easily exploited spot on our defense so this could really help Florida out

I want to get excited about this game, but without rodriquez I don't give UK much of a chance. I'd probably take them straight up if they had him but now I just don't know how they effecdtively move the ball enoguh all game.

People question ARs ability to throw… but frankly if you watch Will Levis, he’s got a lot to prove too.
For whatever reason, people seem to gloss over his decision making.
He struggled mightily against UFs Todd Grantham defense last year.

I agree on Levis. The love affair is unfounded. He's been average to solid. His best game was probably the Iowa game last year but outside of that he's boosted his stats against cupcakes.

Kentucky’s OL seemed to struggle in game 1 vs an inferior opponent.
We’ll see if it matters who’s running the ball

Levis focuses very much on his primary read still and doesn’t go through his progressions consistently, even last week against Miami.
I just find it extremely bizarre that this is never questioned about him but is always mentioned about Richardson.

I mean, it's true on Richardson but probably also with Levis. I guess people see the frame and the arm strength but he's far from a top-level QB and yet is discussed as a top-10 pick potentially. I don't see it.

While growing thinner, the RB was quite deep to start the season. Smoke is first on the depth chart. After him:
LaVell Wright - redshirt freshman that is very similar style as Benny Snell/Chris Rodriguez. I would anticipate a much bigger workload for him this week.
Mike Drennen II- junior RB (former 4 star) is much more like Smoke and has even been used out of the slot in the past. Dangerous athlete.
It should also be noted that Jutahn McClain could possibly go if needed but he is a little banged up.

It wasn't just one person pumping him up. It was pretty widespread. Hell I could probably look up 10 mock drafts right now and he'd be first round in 9 of them and probably in the top 10 of 6-7 of them.

Kentucky won't attempt a rush.

Any chance Rodriguez gets unsuspended?

He's served one game, so no. He'll be out 3-4.

UK recruited a running back out of Lowndes County (Valdosta) GA. He played in seven games as a freshman but transferred to Valdosta State.
His name is Travis Tisdale. Other schools that recruited him hard were Penn State, Ole Miss, and Nebraska. He was the #18 RB in his class.
Any word on why he left UK? As a VSU grad, I'm glad he came home.

He was buried in the depth chart.

As said, he dropped down the depth chart so he bounced for more PT.
I also think something that is being discounted a little bit is that we're pretty sure UK's OC was running as many pass plays as possible to get some reps in pass protection for the new OL guys.
Horsey is also back on at #1 on the depth chart, so there's a good chance he's back in and is the leader of that line. That will make a difference as well.
