I recommend Maudie’s on Lake Austin for mainstream Tex-Mex Also, Guero’s on South Congress and Matt’s El Rancho. Can’t go wrong with these.
We used to have breakfast at The Driscoll Hotel on Sixth Street and always enjoyed it.
For a great neighborhood steak place, Jeffrey’s.

For people driving that don't mind a bit of a hike and a 200-300 dollar bill, Tillies in Dripping Springs was amazing. Wife and I did a weekend in Lakeway and that was out first stop. Blew our other expensive dinner (3 Forks) out of the water.
