$100 million annually compared to $30 million annually...Stanford would join in a heartbeat.

Stanford is Harvard rich, they can do whatever they want as they don't need the money.

Their historic ties (via religion) means Notre Dame may be the canary in the coal mine as to where Stanford ends up

Look at the last B1G adds
Penn State = Public
Nebraska = Public
Maryland = Public
Rutgers = Public
UCLA = Public
USC = Private (but paired with UCLA)

Washington = Public
Oregon = Public

Now look at the ACC additions with realignment
2004 = Miami / PRIVATE
2005 = Boston College / PRIVATE
2013 = Notre Dame / PRIVATE (all sports but CFB)
2013 = Syracuse / PRIVATE
