Looks like they figured out how much money they'd make...

That would secure continuation of the DSOR. Good news if it holds...

Uf au and sc would be our 3 permanents which works out just fine. The only crappy thing will be not playing UT yearly but we never had much history with them pre-92 expansion anyway so oh well.

Are you saying that UT wasn’t a rival pre-1992?

Are you still arguing they were? We played them like 20 times in 80 years.

Were you in college at UGA in the 80s?

They were a rival behind GT, AU, UF, UK, and Vandy. It’s okay if we don’t play them every year.

I can live with that, though, it's gonna be tough finding a replacement for the heated rivalry we had with Mizzou!

Uh, yeah.
And idk how many "rivals" a team is allowed but they have never been higher than 4th on that list.

Anyone who was would tell you Clemson was the bigger opponent during that era. So make Tennessee 5th at best then

I'm assuming we go with FL, Auburn, and SC. I'd rather go with TN but I guess there are more ties w/ the SC rivalry. The Ga-TN rivalry has been really good since 90 and Knoxville is a good road trip. I hate the conference expansion though. It seems like the next step is to just create a super conference of 32 teams; 12 conference games and then playoffs like the NFL and just let everyone else create a sub-conference.

We played UT 4 times in the 80s and each one was a huge game.
By the end of the 1980s, there was a shirt that stressed our orange rivals being UF, Clemson, Auburn, and UT. That continued into the 1990s. Eventually, Clemson, unfortunately fell off our schedule.
To say USC is more of a historical rival is silly.

So 4 games in a decade outweighs more than 6 decades of annual games that outlast Carolina’s membership in the conference? You’re the silly one.
But we played them a couple times in the 80’s, guys.

Because they sucked and were not in the SEC. They were basically Vanderbilt. Is Vanderbilt a rival?
Posted on 8/21/22 at 2:01 pm to Peter Buck
Vanderbilt’s beaten us 5 times since 1978. Carolina’s number is triple that, and there have been a lot of competitive games in the series. That’s not a reasonable comparison.
How competitive has Tennessee been the last 15 years?

Man this whole thing sucks smh

So in the late 80's, there was a t-shirt that said Tennessee was a rival? I want to know more about this. I want to be educated.

Yes, it said “Rednecks turn orange in the Fall” Had UF, Auburn, UT, and Clemson on it.
What is also interesting is Clemson was not in the SEC, but considered a rival, while USC was not.

Younger than the Eastern Division

It wouldn't be fair to put Tennessee into a rival pod with both Georgia and Alabama.
