This is how it works JJ.
-State starts unranked
-State beats ranked team
-Ranked team drops out of poll, because they lost to State.
-"State didn't really beat anybody."
-State starts next season unranked.

That's not true at all. In 2014, y'all beat three then top ten teams and skyrocketed to #1, but all three of those teams finished 8-5.
If anything, y'all ride the annual Aggy rollercoaster.

Add to it, "the next year that team that they beat is a NC contender!"
