Who was the Vol's quarterback...?

Who was the dude they rolled out to start the year last season? I remember watching this cat roll out and overthrow wide open receivers by 20+ yards. Over and over and over. It was the most infuriating thing to watch (I was pulling for them.)
There's NO WAY that was Hendon Hooker.
Or was it?

Joe Milton, Michigan transfer

Joe Milton. I remember watching their opener against some scrubs and Game 2 against Pitt. Tennessee receivers were getting open deep but the dude was overshooting them by 20 yards

How did Milton win the job in the fist place? Hooker was much better at VT than Milton was at Michigan. Doesn't matter now but seemed odd to me they ever went with him.

Milton can legit throw it over the mountains. If he ever develops any touch he'll be great but I don't know if he ever will, tbh.

Sure but he has to really improve just to get to average. He was one of the least accurate QBs I can remember

Hooker wasn't very good when we saw him back in the Spring. Milton looked tons better. I think Milton outright won the job and Hooker outright took it away after Milton was injured. Something clicked after the Florida game for Hooker and he's been crazy good ever since.
There wasn't that much difference between them at prior stops. Both were disliked by their former fanbases.

Hooker is the one who scored a whopping 13 points on Todd Grantham.

That was his first game.

Was he better than Clemson's QB last year b/c that dude was hard to watch vs whatever pathetic acc team they were playing at 11am

Milton did not overthrow a single receiver.
He underthrew the guy sitting in row 16.

The MOST infuriating Milton moment was being in the stands at the Ole Miss game, enduring trashgate, and then watching Milton (who, mind you, has compared himself to Cam Newton) run out of bounds at the five on the final play of the game.

Man, you're probably a better quarterback than that scrub they have in clemson. That dude is arse.

Milton was pretty bad last year but we only saw him in the first few games. He got injured early and most of the snaps we saw him play he was injured. His problem was he only has one speed - rocket launcher. Hooker had a few rough starts coming in for Milton and didn't really take the job completely away until a few games into the season.
Milton also screwed up bigly when Hooker was forced to sit out a play and instead of throwing, he ran on what became with that fateful decision the final play of the game. We were within scoring range and have a good chance to score if Hooker is in on that play.
That said, Milton's arm is so huge that I really would like to see him figure it out.

It’s really impressive how many points and yards we put up when you consider Milton overthrew at least 5-6 wide open TD’s last year.
Hooker actually had his share of misses too. His downfield accuracy is much lower than it should be throwing to receivers that are open by 20 yards.

Thank you.
Why is there 3 down votes on my post? I figure when that happens it's bound to be some weirdo Aggie posters. Makes no sense.

Don't take it personally. It's the rant. People will downvote the most innocuous things. Hell, they will downvote positive things.
