It's that easy. I spent 3 hours today trying to explain to my know-it-all 18 year-old son the Zac-Rodney story (I was at the game that day and will never forget it), and the next vid that popped up was a 20 minute story on Lutzie. I cried, and am not ashamed in the least to admit it. Both very happy and sad tears.
I do not intend to question anyone's fandom or opinions, but for some of you younger bucks or much worse, more ignorant fricks who continue to spout off on AU Football, consider this a test question. At the very least, if you do not know, that is fine, but I hope you will take this chance to learn some AU football history and life-lessons that come with it, and reflect. Perspectives and all. War Eagle. Thank you Rodney, always. RIP Lutzie.
ETA I bring up this question thanks to CBH (and his tweets / social media, today).

I looked it up.
I remembered when Zach broke his neck, but forgot the RBs name.
Amazing the kid may have saved Zach from being a quadriplegic

He was committed to Auburn for a time period. Anyone who followed recruiting should remember him well.

Happened 13 seasons ago.
I did not remember Rodney Scott’s name, but he did certainly impacted Zach Etheridge’s future that day.
I guess I don’t follow recruiting close enough to care what happens after they don’t sign with AU.
I knew about Julio or a Rueben Foster, maybe a Ray Drew, but Rodney Scott would not have been a Heisman winner at AU. Good football player, but not a program legend.

This was the vid I watched yesterday. I hope you will as well. WDE Coach Zac!
Zac Etheridge Story
And just saw this one today. It's short and well worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
AU Football: Every Day... Zac Etheridge Meets Player Who Saved His Life (Ep. 9)
And Lutzie. RIP And War Eagle. The Story of Philip Lutzenkirchen
shite on CBH all you want, but he is responsible for having Caddy, Zac and Trovon on his staff, and there are not too many other people who love Auburn and AU football more than those three, and they are out there everyday, grinding and busting their asses to make us better and to make the AU Family proud, as coaches now, just as they did daily suiting up for every practice and every game day, repping Auburn. They deserve all the support they can get for everything they have done and are still doing for AU football from my perspective.
This one makes me want to suit up go hit someone. I'll start with Jang and literally go crazy on you;-). Please watch. For anyone who cares about AU Football, it is worth your time. No obligation, money-back guarantee included.
From Auburn player to Auburn coach, Zac Etheridge comes ‘full circle’
Rant off and War Damn Eagle.
Thanks for the BBQ info - I had no idea. Is it the same Rodney Scott? Learn something new everyday.
