That was kind of my thinking. Some, I repeat... some(not all)(just some)(to reiterate, a few), Lsu fans act as though that's what happened with Saban and us, but I would think this Arky/Ole Miss game would have the appropriate venom.

whats your thoughts on the whole Nutt situation? A friend of mine from work who is from Ark. says Nutt was treated wrong, what say you?

i think there were wrongs on both sides and it got too messy. i never knew what to believe in the whole deal, to tell you the truth.

Its a shame for Arkansas, Nutt really is a damn good coach IMO. Their was just too much water under the bridge for him to stay there. Petrino is a POS as far as I am concerned. He is a good coach but Arky better have a ready back up plan because this guy is likely to haul arse at anytime.

The only bad blood is from the Arkansas side. To Ole Miss its just another game. And I also think most of the Arkansas fans are over it except for a few, and most of those few tend to be on message boards, particularly on rivals.
My personal take is that it worked out best for both schools so it should just be left at that. Arkansas wanted him gone, Ole Miss needed a coach. Nutt knows how to coach talent, Ole Miss had talent. Petrino can recruit and will throw the ball even with a shite QB like C. Dick.

Again...Where will he go? Everybody says the same thing about this but I doubt anybody has really put any real perspective in answering...Are there better jobs than Arky...You betcha...Will Petrino get one of those jobs...doubtful

Here is the thing we do know about Nutt:

2) 10 seasons = 0 SEC Championships. THis is unacceptable at any SEC school (besides Vandy, bc the just have lower standards). If we dont fire the guy, we are basically approving of being mediocre, and the whole point of having a coach is to win...not be mediocre
The two above are facts based on performance measurables. He was barely .500 in SEC play over 10 years...once again, a school wanting to be great will not except this.

Actually I have found the most dedicated "nutt haters" to be on hogville. You can't post one "non-negative" thing about Nutt without being called a Nutt Hugger and being told to move to Mississippi. The whole banner flying was started and funded there. the people on that board were the main group of haters. Most Arkansas fans were kinda up in the air about it. Yeah, Nutt screwed up, but that "group" of fans was just plain stupid about it.

It's a big deal to the students. It's a big deal to many of our fans. It's a big deal to the Ole Miss idiots that are trying to fly a banner over our stadium Saturday afternoon.
I know that around here DC has earned the right to speak for us Hogs; however, she is wrong on this one.
BTW, Ole Miss should win the game this yr.
