True South had a pretty good episode on the Birmingham food scene and the influence from the Italian, Greek, and Lebanese immigrants.

Former Tide QB/DB and All-American Ed Salem was Lebanese. He later opened 3 restaurants in B'ham, one featuring Lebanese fare (fwiw)
