Because outside of Georgia, Bama, Florida, Auburn, and UTe, who has 2 true rivals?

Ole Miss has played LSU and State 100+ times. No one wants to see Ole Miss/LSU go away.

I don't want to see yearly games of LSU/OM, LSU/Bama, or LSU/UF go away, but I've accepted that whatever model they settle on will be something different than that unfortunately.

Agreed but are you prepared to see Ole Miss/MSU go away as a result?

But Ole Miss and Miss. State are in-state SEC rivals, that is more of the traditional long term rival game. LSU/Ole Miss really took off in the 1950's when Vaught/Dietzel were coaching Ole Miss and LSU.
